Advanced discovery, processing, and visualization services for ICESat and ICESat-2 altimeter data
The NASA funded project is developing cyberinfrastructure that will enable users, both novice and expert users across different science specializations to discover, process and visualization ICESat and ICESat-2 data via a powerful, interactive interface. The broad disciplinary range is important because both missions were not only tasked to measure changes in ice sheet and sea-ice elevations, but to provide new observations of vegetation canopy structure and the distribution of clouds and aerosols.
This project is a collaboration with SDSC and SIO at UC San Diego, National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) and UNAVCO.
